Here you will find answers to the most common questions about the Alive Health survey and platform – from how it works and what to expect, to privacy, reports, and technical tips. Whether you are an employee taking the survey or a community member invited to participate, this guide is here to help you feel informed, safe, and supported every step of the way.

A: Understanding Alive Health 

1. What is the Alive Health Survey? 
Alive Health is an Occupational Health & Safety survey based on global best practice models. It helps individuals and organizations gain insight into health, safety, well-being, and performance at work. 

2. What is the theory behind it? 
The survey is based on Salutogenesis – a health science model that focuses on the factors that promote well-being, rather than those that cause disease. In simple terms, Alive Health helps you identify what is working in your life so you can do more of it and build a healthier future. 

3. Is the survey only available in English? 
No. Alive Health is translated and culturally adapted into 45 different languages to ensure it is accessible and meaningful to people from all backgrounds. 

4. Is participation voluntary? 
Yes. Participation is completely voluntary. However, your input is valuable, and your responses will help build a better and healthier workplace and community for everyone. 

5. Why should I take the survey? 
By completing the survey, you will receive: 

  • A personalized health and well-being report based on global models 

  • Practical tips to help improve your everyday life and health habits 

  • The opportunity to reflect and grow – mentally, physically, socially, and emotionally 

6. Does Alive Health give medical diagnoses? 
No. Alive Health does not diagnose any health condition. 
Your report will contain scores based on your answers, aligned with validated public health models (for example, from the World Health Organization or academic institutions such as NTNU). If you have medical concerns, please consult your healthcare provider. 

7. Who are Stray Partners AS? 
Stray Partners is a Norwegian-based advisory firm founded in 2020 and headquartered in Oslo. They specialize in occupational health and safety diagnostics and are the creators of the Alive Health platform. 
In 2024, Deloitte independently verified Stray Partners and the Alive Health platform, confirming them as safe to use globally. The company is ISO 27001 certified and NIS2 compliant (the EU’s Network and Information Security Directive). 
 

Stray Partners are independent, objective, and neutral, operating at arm's length to safeguard impartiality. No personal identifiers such as name, email, or IP address are stored, and all data is encrypted and anonymized. 

B: Taking the Survey 

8. How long does it take to complete the survey? 
On average, it takes 20 minutes. 

9. Are there any tips for taking the survey? 
Yes. Find a quiet space, grab a tea or coffee, and give yourself about 20 minutes to focus. Take your time and be as honest as possible – the results are personal and just for you. 

10. What devices can I use? 
The survey can be taken on PC, mobile, or tablet. For the best experience, we recommend using a larger screen such as a PC or tablet. 

11. How does the survey process work? 

  1. You receive a survey invite (via link or QR code) 

  2. The system automatically generates a personal token* 

  3. You save your token (copy it, write it down, or have it emailed to you) 

  4. You answer the survey honestly and thoughtfully 

  5. You receive your personal report, which only you can access 

*A token is your personal, anonymous access link that lets you pause and resume the survey, view your report, and keep your progress safe – without using your name or email. 

12. How do I access and resume my survey? 
You will receive a unique token link that saves your progress and allows you to pause and resume. You can: 

  • Copy and save it somewhere safe 

  • Email it to yourself using the on-screen prompt (email is never stored, handled in browser mode only) 

 

C: Privacy and Anonymity 

13. Is the survey anonymous? 
Yes. No names, emails, or personal identifiers are used. Your token is the only way to access your survey or report. All data is one-way encrypted. 

14. Who can see my report? 
Only you – not even your employer can view it. 

15. Can my data be traced back to me? 
No. No data is shown in company reports if there are fewer than 20 respondents in a group, in line with HIPAA compliance. 

16. What is HIPAA? 
HIPAA stands for the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act, a U.S. federal law that protects personal health information. Alive Health follows HIPAA globally to ensure: 

  • No individual results are shown in groups with fewer than 20 people 

  • All survey data is fully anonymous 

  • All information is handled with the highest confidentiality 

17. How is my data stored? 
Your answers are stored securely in the cloud and are one-way encrypted. Once you exit the survey, any temporary identifiers such as IP addresses are deleted. 

 

D: Reports and Results 

18. How do I receive my personal report? 
When you complete the survey, your report is generated instantly. You can: 

  • Send it to your email (email is never stored) 

  • Download it directly to your device 

19. What if I forget to download my report? 
You can re-create your report using your unique token.

20. Where do I find my downloaded report? 

  • Your report is typically saved in the Downloads folder. 

    To find it: 

    • Open File Explorer (Windows) or Finder (Mac) 

    • Click on Downloads in the left-hand menu 

    • Look for a file named something like: AliveHealth_Employee_Report_Token.pdf 

    Tip: You can also press Ctrl + J (Windows) or Command + Option + L (Mac) in your browser to quickly open your recent downloads. 

  • To find your downloaded report:

    1. Tap the Files app (usually a blue folder icon) 

    2. Go to “On My iPhone” or “Downloads” under Browse

    3. Look for a file named like: AliveHealth_Employee_Report_Token.pdf  

    4. Tap to open, share, or move it to another folder 

    Tip: If you don’t see the file, check the browser you used (e.g., Safari or Chrome) and look in its Downloads section. 

  • To find your downloaded report:

    1. Open the Files or My Files app (varies by brand) 

    2. Tap Downloads

    3. Look for the file: AliveHealth_Employee_Report_Token.pdf 

    4. Tap to open, share, or save to another location 

    Tip: You can also swipe down and search for "Alive" or "Report" if you’re unsure where it went. 

21. What are the “Five Alive Health Tips”? 
Five simple, science-based lifestyle tips from validated health models. Safe, practical, and side-effect-free. 

 

E: Technical Help 

22. What if I lose internet while taking the survey? 
Your progress is saved automatically. When you are back online, re-open your token link to continue.

23. Will I receive marketing or follow-up emails? 
No. Once your survey is complete and your report is downloaded, your token is deactivated, and no contact information is stored. 

 

F: Additional Participation 

24. Can my spouse or partner take the survey? 
Yes. They can participate free of charge and will receive a separate invitation link to keep their responses private and anonymous – if provided by the employer / organizer.
